An exciting announcement
Humans in the Loop is excited to announce the launch of our newest brand: Doctors in the Loop. After working on Medical AI annotation projects for several years, we have decided to establish Doctors in the Loop as a separate entity, given the enormous potential in the space and the extremely high demand by clients looking for high-quality medical data labeled and validated by certified professionals. Our goal is to become the go-to provider of human input for any medical AI system.
To date, we have successfully performed numerous medical training data projects for leading academic institutions, healthcare startups, and enterprise customers. Some of our successful projects include:
- Annotating hundreds of hours of colonoscopy procedures with accurate frame-by frame labels of polyps
- Labeling facial keypoints on patients who have suffered a stroke in order to detect facial asymmetries
- Performing precise segmentation of surgical tools on videos of endoscopic surgeries and prostatectomies
- Annotating blood vessels and foetuses on fetoscopic placental images
- Segmenting the aorta and iliac artery vessel on CT scans
- Annotating bone marrow and body fluid pathology images
And many more! Given our track record and the increased interest by clients in our medical annotation capabilities, launching Doctors in the Loop as a separate brand immediately made sense for our entire team.
Medical AI: the opportunity
The size of the Healthcare AI market is estimated to be close to 11 Billion USD currently and is expected to reach 188 Billion USD by 2030. Given this rapid growth, fuelled by academic research and investments by major corporations and healthcare institutions, the need for high-quality data will only continue to increase.
The healthcare industry is also one of the most challenging ones for AI development and deployment. Companies working in the field are coming across challenges such as data privacy, lack of standardization across locations and institutions, lack of trust by both practitioners and patients, and severe risks of AI bias and lack of explainability.
Thanks to our hands-on experience of labeling hundreds of medical images and videos, we have developed a robust expertise in managing medical AI projects in the best possible way in order to guarantee data quality, consistency in the interpretation across different specialists, and efficiency in the annotation process which results in direct cost savings for our clients. Some of the formats we handle include:
